I already provide cleaning, security, and promotional
services for my 15 office buildings and shopping centers
downtown, so I don't need this for my properties. But if
my buildings are islands of cleanliness and safety in the
midst of a downtown that is widely perceived as dangerous
and dirty, then I can’t succeed and neither can you.

In this age of hyper-competitive retailing, small
businesses have to fight hard for the dollars of every
customer and face many other challenges along the way. The
only way to create a competitive retail and business
environment is to level the playing field with other
business districts and indoor shopping malls. To
accomplish that, our community leaders decided the area
needed a Business Improvement District (BID). After being
presented with these facts, the diverse stakeholders of
Bedford-Stuyvesant understood that the only way to sustain
a unique, thriving and profitable minority business
community is to provide professional management of the
district.
